Greetings Again From Hurricane Alley
In our last newsletter we told you about hurricanes Francis and Charley and the destruction they brought to our state. At that time we had no idea it was just the beginning. After these passed along came Ivan and then the worst of all, Jeanne. Three of the four hurricanes passed almost directly over our heads. We received 42 inches of rain in a six-week period plus much wind damage. The result of all the rain is a battle to overcome mildew and mold accumulation.
We have temporary repairs on our roof like many others and twelve huge trees we must cut and dispose. We have been informed we will need to wait for at least three to four more weeks before equipment will be available to do this work. The stress factor from the six weeks of relentless wind, rain and destruction has had its emotional effect on many Floridians in the form of depression and anxiety as never before. Recent changes in insurance laws have allowed very large deductible clauses and most people will have to borrow on their homes to have them repaired. Many others have lost everything!
We do thank the Lord for your prayers for us during this time and for His protection.!
We also want to thank each of you that called out of concern for our safety. Our house is old and has seen hurricanes and tornadoes but offers the safety equal to any other building. We are grateful that we did not need to evacuate.
With four consecutive extended power outages during this time it was impossible to get anything done which required electricity and/or computers. This resulted in our correspondence and other office duties waiting for attention. We are finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully getting back on schedule. It seems as though we have lost six months of this year. As impossible as it seems, we are again nearing Thanksgiving Day. Where has the year gone?
Pat and I cannot find the words needed to tell you how much we thank the Lord for every one of you. This is your ministry proclaiming God’s message. We are your servants trying to be obedient and responsible to the Lord every day. Without you and your prayer support this ministry would not exist. Without you our efforts around the world would not be possible. We never forget this and never forget to thank our Lord for our partnership in this ministry. We thank the Lord for every one of you who are involved in making it possible to go, teach and preach the truth.
How blessed we are to have a God who hears and answers our prayers; A God who supplies our needs, opens doors of opportunity and draws in those whose hearts are ready to hear His truth.
Our God is a faithful, merciful, patient, and loving God who deserves our service and praise. Join us in the days and weeks ahead, take time to give Him your sacrifice of praise for all He has done in your life; regardless of what may be happening currently. He is worthy of our praise!
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
