Hurricane Charley:
By the time you receive this newsletter Pat and I will probably be almost back to normal. It isn’t everyday someone sits through the eye of a hurricane. Hurricane Charley passed directly over our home and the devastation throughout this area was staggering. We had large trees blown over or snapped off besides hundreds of small to large limbs all over our yard. Our street was completely blocked with large, tall trees and power lines. We were without electricity and air conditioning for many hours and ice, gasoline and milk were virtually unavailable.
Pat and I sat in our home watching huge objects fly by and thanking the Lord for His protection. Our home was not damaged. How wonderful it is, in the midst of such chaos, to be able to experience the peace of God.
Many of you called and e-mailed us to let us know you had been praying for us. We felt it. We have many old tall pine trees in our yard. They are huge and some are rotting in the middle. I told Pat if one of those blew over it would go through the house. One did come down with the wind blowing directly toward the house. The Lord allowed the tree to break off about 20 feet above ground so the huge tree top fell with it’s top branches just in front of the house. Not one branch touched the structure. What a Mighty God!
Thank you for your prayers. We should have it all cleaned up in the next week or two. Some still do not have electricity and have suffered great losses. Please pray for them!
Ministry Update:
2004 Has been a very busy year for us. We just finished five days of teaching Biblical Relationships in Pennsylvania The Lord blessed with hundreds in attendance every night and many who made new commitments of every area of their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and His Word.
Besides these, we have conducted many radio interviews, multiple meetings and teaching seminars in six states, and at the same time, back at the office, we have been going through the cumbersome task of editing tapes and burning new CDs, updating our computer software to eventually make it more efficient, (but no less aggravating), and revising our literature to prepare for the ministry’s name change.
Our internet and phone counseling has been increasing greatly since we established our home page; advertised our e-mail address and started the “Hosea Project.” The Lord is touching so many new people around the world and we are now receiving orders for products from overseas.
The details involved in changing our ministry name are progressing slowly but surely. We want to remind you again of the upcoming name change from Webb Ministries to “Christian Principles Restored Ministries.” We have felt for some time the name, “Webb Ministries,” does not clearly define anything about our purpose. The new name will identify it very clearly; Restoring Christian Principles that many have abandoned and many others no longer comprehend.
Pat and I wish to thank those of you who have so faithfully continued to support this vital work. One of the difficult realities of this ministry is an ever- present problem: different people respond excitedly to this truth and begin to support this ministry. In their excitement they begin to tell others about what they have learned and are immediately attacked and almost destroyed emotionally, becoming discouraged when they are ostracized or asked to leave the church. Tragically, their experience is like the illustration Jesus gave of the sower who went forth to sow seeds.
Matthew 13: 5,6& 20,21“Some seeds fell onto stony places where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth. And when the sun was up, they were scorched: and because they had no root, they withered away.
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth, because of the word, by and by he is offended.”
Whenever we counsel individuals who excitedly call us about this “new truth” they have just read, we try to warn them to expect persecution, rejection, and isolation. We are in warfare and the enemy will fight this truth to the death, and attack anyone who becomes the bearer of these truths. The enemy knows if he can destroy the family, which is a picture of Jesus Christ and His Church, he can destroy the Church’s effectiveness in our society.
Pat and I continue to request your prayers for this ministry and the many new facets of ministry opening to us. We don’t dare let up now! We see a breakthrough coming!
Some of you have been incredibly faithful to this ministry through good and bad times. How far we have come! Any successes we have experienced are because of you and your faithful support. Your monthly notes encouraging us to keep on mean so much to us. We pray God’s richest blessings on each of you.
There are some of you who have received newsletters for over two years now and we haven’t heard from you since your original order. We know this ministry does not interest some people because they have other burdens and ministries. We also realize some of you have different motivations and burdens. Consequently, we do not want to offend anyone by continuing to send out mail they would rather not receive.
By the time our next newsletter comes out, our new computer software will define those individuals who have not responded to the appeals for their partnering with us. We will let them know it will be the last newsletter unless we hear from them stating they would like to continue receiving them.
We feel we must be good stewards with the limited funds the Lord provides for us, and producing the newsletter is a large factor in our budget. Please pray about being a part of what we have been called to do. Thank you for your consideration of this matter. May God Richly Bless each of you.
Please, pray for us!

SIGNS OF THE TIMES:
The Secularization of the Bible:
Another “new translation of the Bible” has now appeared. This new translation literally promotes fornication.
The 104 th Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams, is the primate (spiritual head) of the Anglican Communion, which was founded during the reign of King Henry VIII of England because the Roman Church refused to allow him to divorce or have annulled his marriage of 28 years. Dr. Williams has praised this translation for it’s “extraordinary power.” In reality, it flatly contradicts all traditional core Christian beliefs on sex and morality.
Titled, “Good As New,” this translation was translated by former Baptist minister John Henson for the “One” organization, to produce what the group calls a “new, fresh and adventurous” translation of the Christian scriptures, but admitted many would be startled by it’s content. He is quoted as saying he hoped it would “spread in epidemic profusion through religious and irreligious alike.”
The “One Organization” is dedicated to “establishing peace, justice, dignity and rights for all.” It is focused on “sustainable use of the earth’s resources, challenging oppression, injustice, exclusion and discrimination; and the acceptance of one another; valuing each person’s diversity and experience.”
Breaking all boundaries of former translations, this version changes the Greek and Hebrew names into modern nicknames. St. Peter is “Rocky,” Mary Magdalene becomes “Maggie,” Aaron becomes “Ron,” Andronicus becomes “Andy,” and Barabbas becomes “Barry.” It goes on to translate “demon possession” as “mental illness,” and Son of Man as, “The Complete Person.” Parables are now “riddles,” baptize is to “dip” in water, salvation becomes “healing” or “completeness,” and Heaven becomes, “the world beyond time and space.”
Here are a few sample passages:
Mark 1:4 Authorized Version: “John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”
Mark 1:4 GAN Version: “John, nicknamed ‘The Dipper,’ was ‘The Voice.’ He was in the desert, inviting people to be dipped, to show they were determined to change their ways and wanted to be forgiven.”
Mark 1:10-11 Authorized Version: “And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him. And there came a voice from the heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Mark 1:10-11 GAN Version: “As he was climbing up the bank again, the sun shone through a gap in the clouds. At the same time a pigeon flew down and perched on him. Jesus took this as a sign that God’s spirit was with him. A voice from overhead was heard saying, ‘That’s my boy! You’re doing fine!”
Matthew 23:25: Authorized Version: “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!”
Matthew 23:25 GAN Version: “Take a running jump, Holy Joes, humbugs!”
I Corinthians 7:1,2 ;Authorized Version: “Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: (It is) good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, (to avoid) fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.”
I Corinthians 7:1,2 GAN Version: “Some of you think the best way to cope with sex is for men and women to keep right away from each other. That is more likely to lead to sexual offences. My advice is for everyone to have a regular partner.”
Note: Paul spoke of this practice in his day: Romans 1:25; …“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen..
SIGNS OF THE TIMES 2
A Totally Alien Mindset:
Joel Belz, publisher and CEO of World Magazine, in the March 20, 2004 issue, wrote an article as named above. In it he warned about what is happening to the national mindset within our society, concerning moral social trends. In the following excerpts, Mr. Belz said;
… “with every passing week, it seems more and more apparent that those who argue for a more-or-less traditional view of marriage are fighting a rear-guard battle. We may, for the time being, even have the polls on our side. The permissiveness that is so pervasive in our culture today, and the implicit pluralism that grants to everyone the right to think whatever he or she wants to think about just about any subject on earth (except the subject of pluralism, of course), will almost certainly sometime in the next generation gobble up any gains we might achieve in the next year or two.
…The problem isn’t so much that we have the wrong views on homosexual marriage; the problem is that, as a society, we have the wrong views about where we get our views. So, only a tiny minority in our society today really has any well-defined, specific idea why they’re against homosexual marriage, And when the hollow thoughts and trivial convictions of the other folks pass away- even many who say they oppose homosexual marriage-they’ll give way all too easily to a totally alien mindset.
This mindset is a point of view that does not simply seek permission to engage in certain kinds of behavior. It seeks instead to ensure that everyone else in society also engages in that same behavior, or at least gives it tacit approval. That’s why the California Supreme Court ruled just a few days ago, by a convincing 6-1 majority, that the Catholic Charities organization in that state is required to provide for all it’s employees health insurance that specifically includes coverage for forms of birth control that Catholic Charities finds morally objectionable. It’s not enough, in other words, to give some Californians the right to include such coverage in their health insurance; the court says everyone has to do what the minority wants the privilege of doing.
It is hardly a big step from that ruling to another that will force religious organizations to offer health insurance that includes coverage for abortions- or, a few years from now, coverage for forms of euthanasia. Rather than being surprised when that happens, we should be surprised if it does not happen just that way….
So in the end, the debate will be not just about what we are willing to tolerate in other people’s behavior, but which parts of that behavior we are willing to endorse as our own. The Evil One never simply seeks permission to engage in his agenda; he wants to force even those who disagree with him to comply in that agenda…It’s going to take a lot of courage in the days just ahead to resist.”
Note: I Corinthians 15:58; “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
A Sign Of the Times 3
The American Bar Association might tell judges to resign from any anti-gay groups: Gina Holland, of the Associated Press, in the August 7, 2004 edition of the Orlando Sentinel stated:
“Judges are on the front line of battles about legal rights for same-sex couples and should never belong to an organization that discriminates against gays, supporters of a proposed change to American Bar Association ethics rules argued Friday. Judges are…debating whether to make groups that discriminate against gays off limits as well.
…It is not known how many judges participate in groups such as the Boy Scouts that have policies against hiring gays or having gay leaders, or some veterans groups that restrict membership to heterosexuals.
…Rules on gifts judges may accept and judges’ involvement in fund-raisers may also be changed… a new report by the Government Accountability Office, Congress’ auditing arm, shows that some judges request –and receive permission-to withhold information about gifts from the public on the premise that their safety could be compromised.”

A Sign of the Times 4
The AARP recently released a study that indicated divorces after age 40 are initiated by women 66% of the time. The top three reasons for women were: physical, or emotional abuse (23 percent), drug and alcohol abuse (18 percent), and infidelity (17 percent). Men said they sought divorces because they fell out of love (17 percent), they had different values or lifestyles (14 percent), or infidelity (14 percent). Note: II Timothy 3:1-5
A Sign of the Times 5
The National Fatherhood Initiative group out of Maryland recently released the results of a study. Here were two of their conclusions:
a.“Children who live absent from their biological father are, on average, at least two to three times more likely to be poor, to use drugs, to experience educational, health, emotional and behavioral problems than their peers who live with married, biological (or adoptive) parents.
b.“Children with involved, loving fathers are significantly more likely to do well in school, have healthy self-esteem, exhibit empathy and pro-social behavior, and avoid high-risk behaviors such as drug use, truancy, and criminal activity compared to children who have uninvolved fathers.”
